Austin Shutler, is a licensed doctor of physical therapy, movement specialist, and yoga instructor living in San Diego California. Austin takes a holistic, integrative approach to rehab, performance, and injury prevention, drawing from a deep passion for preventative medicine, longevity, wellness, mindfulness, and movement awareness. Austin works to help individuals reconnect with the intelligence of their body, mind, and spirit to optimize vitality.

Originally from small-town Ohio, Austin earned his B.S. in Health and Exercise Science and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Findlay, in 2021 where he also played collegiate football for over three years. With a lifelong background in athletics—ranging from football, basketball, baseball, and track to current practices like climbing, running, lifting, yoga, and surfing—Austin brings firsthand knowledge of performance, injury prevention, functional training, and the power of movement as medicine to life.

Austin completed his yoga teacher training early in 2023 and began teaching soon after certification, realizing the path of a yogi is a significant part of his journey. Austin Initially gravitated towards Yoga due to his love for functional movement medicine, injury prevention, and dynamic body strength training through mobility and flexibility. Diving deeper into the world of yoga, he soon realized that there is much more to it than simply the asana practice, and found a deep connection to yogic philosophy, intuitive guidance, mindfulness, meditation, and being in service to the world to help play a role in unifying the self to others.

Austin specializes in comprehensive body assessments and integrative care, addressing not just isolated injuries, but working with the body as an interconnected system, getting to the root cause to offer long term lifestyle changes rather than short term relief. He helps clients build nervous system regulation and return to doing what they love with less pain and improved awareness.

Through breath, kinesiology, progressive weight training, and balance, Austin hopes to enhance your mind-body connection, self regulation, and functionality, to support you through injury recovery and in injury prevention. He aspires to bring awareness to the breath & body through presence, to remember your innate healing to yourself, and to others.
